What is the Good Food Box?
Established in 1995, the Good Food Box Program provides fresh, healthy and nutritious fruits and vegetable to hundreds of individuals and families each year. In 2017 over 14,000 boxes were sold to over 2,056 individuals. For a nominal fee, participants pay for a Good Food Box in the first week of the month. The box is packed through our main office located in Belleville and shipped to depots throughout Hastings & Prince Edward Counties. Delivered during the third week of the month, the Good Food Box helps families stretch their food dollar, reduce their food costs and meet the nutritional needs of themselves and family members.
How do I Participate?
To place your order and pay at your nearest depot (contact your nearest depot to inquire about payment options, see website http://www.cdcquinte.com for complete list of depots). You would pick up your box on the third Wednesday of the month.
How much does it cost?
There are three options to choose from:
- $15.00 Large Good Food Box has larger amounts of fresh fruits and vegetables and is suitable for households of three or more people.
- $10.00 Small Good Food Box has smaller amounts of fresh fruits and vegetables and is suitable for households of one or two people.
- $5.00 Fruit Bag has a selection of various fruits and is a great “add on” to one of the boxes or on its’ own!
